The Benefits of Dental Implants
Last for Decades
If you follow your dentist's recommendations and practice good dental habits, dental implants have the potential to last for decades. While the restoration attached to the implants will eventually require replacement, the implant itself can last the rest of your life.
Don't Slip and Slide
Patients often complain about traditional dentures and bridges because they have the risk of coming loose, changing positions, and even falling out. In contrast, dental implants fuse directly with your jawbone, so there is little chance of them becoming loose.
Retain Jawbone Strength
When you lose a tooth, your jawbone can begin to atrophy where the tooth root used to be. This can lead to impaired bite strength and distorted facial features. Fortunately, dental implants replace the natural tooth roots and fuse with the jawbone, so the bone receives the support it needs to stay strong.

View On GoogleWhat Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are titanium rods that replace tooth roots. An oral surgeon surgically places implants through the gums and into the jawbone. The medical titanium is able to fuse with the jawbone, allowing the implant to replicate the function of a natural tooth root. Once securely fused with the jaw, implants can support restorations like dentures, bridges, or crowns. Because of their durability and longevity, dental implants are generally considered by the dental community to be the best available treatment for restoring missing teeth.

Implants may seem pricey, but they are a worthwhile investment in your overall quality of life. At Utah Oral Surgeons, we can offer discounts to patients who pay for their treatment upfront. We also work with CareCredit®, a third-party lender that can help you reduce out-of-pocket expenses. This flexible financing option allows you to spread the cost of treatment over an affordable monthly payment plan.
CareCredit offers special financing options to meet your individual budget. For those that qualify, shorter-term financing options from six to 24 months can feature no interest charges. Long-term financing can extend up to 60 months, allowing patients to get the treatment they deserve without having to wait.

State-of-the-Art Care
3D Cone Beam Imaging
Proper implant placement is crucial to the success of your treatment. Our advanced cone beam scanner produces three-dimensional images of your mouth structure, including teeth, soft tissues, bone, and nerve pathways. With these images, our surgeons can precisely determine the best location to place the titanium implants, ensuring your restoration will be strong and secure.
Digital Impressions
To ensure we have the most detailed images before planning your treatment, our doctors use 3D intraoral scanning technology to create a complete model of your mouth. Far more accurate and far less messy than traditional dental molds, digital impressions allow our team or your primary dentist to create incredibly lifelike restorations that blend seamlessly with your smile.
The Timeline of Dental Implant Treatment
We can work closely with your dentist to ensure you receive excellent care throughout the treatment timeline.

Qualifications for Dental Implants
Smoking
Because smoking reduces your body's ability to heal, it can undermine your candidacy for many types of oral surgery. In the case of dental implants, smoking increases the risk of implant failure. If you are a smoker interested in implant treatment, you should quit several months ahead of surgery.
Low Bone Density
If your jawbone has atrophied to an extreme degree, it may be too weak to support dental implants. However, patients with low bone density can restore their candidacy by undergoing bone grafting treatment.
Periodontal Disease
If you have gum disease, periodontal therapy will be necessary before your gums are able to undergo implant placement. This will ensure the best possible chance of success for your treatment.
